Prana Yoga

Prana Yoga, is one word, it is life energy. Its nature is movement. Any movement that we can observe right from the body to the pure consciousness, Bodha, is of Prana Yoga. When a Yogi gets absorbed in deep Samadhi, pure consciousness remains static and silent and the Prana is withdrawn completely from the whole personality in its upward movement through Sushumna. It then merges with the Pruusha or pure consciousness and remains undifferentiated. This is referred to as the Sakti merging in Shive. When the Yogi comes out of Samadhi and his consciousness turns outwards, the very momentum and movement coming upon the hilt or pure consciousness is Prana Yoga.

Prana Yoga is latent in the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe. We know that the body is nourished by oxygen, nitrogen and other constituents of the atmosphere, while according to the Yogis, nourishment and the growth of life are more due to the Prana Yoga assimilated by the system from air, water and food. Prana Yoga is an all together different power and force which remains in the different things of the world and different parts of the human personality in different expressions.
